Our couple ventured from sunny California for a Baby Moon in the wintery month of February on our little island of Mallorca. When they arrived to rain, it wasn’t what they had in mind but luckily the weather cleared and we had a gorgeous day for our photo session. At 31-weeks pregnancy they wanted to make this vacation a very special one as a couple and celebrate it with a long photoshoot. Particularly fond of architecture and nature the couple wanted to extend our shoot over two locations from the city’s historical district to some of Mallorca’s iconic scenery. Thank you to Laura Gisbert for the beautiful hair and make-up done as well as Hotel Can Alomar for the beautiful hotel room for the preparations.

With one of the largest historical districts in Europe, Palma is the PERFECT location for a photo session with a EUROPEAN architectural vibe.

Mallorca is a bigger island than most people imagine and often there are requests to shoot in a quaint town followed by a beach session. In this case it was Palma and Formentor which is about 1.5 hours by car on the highway and then onto winding roads that weave upwards through the mountain. The natural light is most flattering when it’s sitting low on the horizon during sunrise and sunset so when couple’s request two locations that are long distances from each other, I suggest booking two sunset sessions over two separate days so that we have the optimal lighting situation for both locations. When you do a photo shoot you’re investing on many levels and you deserve to shoot when the light is best!
